01 / ABOUT THE PLACE

About this place

The menu makes choosing a drink by film title part of the fun. “Tony,” inspired by Iron Man, is a slightly sweet long drink combining herbs and coconut. Other superhero-film cocktails take a different direction: “God’s Lightning,” from Thor, pairs banana with passion fruit, while “Dear Neighbor Peter,” inspired by Spider-Man, combines tequila and blue curaçao. You can choose something sweet or opt for a drink with mint or herbs, matching your taste with memories of a favourite film.

Some cocktails take actors, rather than films, as their inspiration. The Gary Oldman-inspired drink is a dry long drink with coffee and herbs. Non-alcoholic cocktails are also listed, so those avoiding alcohol can still choose a drink with a screen-inspired theme. Visitors have also said they were able to request cocktails based on films or actors not on the menu; asking about a favourite film could be a good way to start a conversation.

For a more substantial meal, the listed choices include Dark Side Curry, Special Napolitan and Dark Side Risotto. There is also chimichanga, while Original Nachos or cherrywood-smoked cheese make options to share or snack on. Some visitors have enjoyed looking at the film props and merchandise while they were there, making the time spent deciding what to order part of the experience.

SF-BAR Kanda flux has been used by solo visitors as well as small groups, and visitors have reported both counter and booth seating. For an evening in Kanda centred on film talk and drinks, you can choose a cocktail by its inspiration and pair it with a meal or snacks.
